Robertsons Mincemeat Classic 411g is the jarred mix of dried fruit, peel and spice that goes inside a mince pie. There is no meat in it, whatever the name suggests.

How it is used

Mince pies: Spoon into pastry cases, lid on, and bake. A jar fills a good batch.
Also: Stirred through apples in a crumble, or spread in a bread and butter pudding.
Jar size: 411g.
When: A Christmas line, so it comes and goes with the season.

Very customer oriented company.. filling not for me though

Had trouble with the shipping too seemed to go lost in mail. But representative from Robertsons tracked it down and I got it The jars are small. Says 411mg thats suppose to be 2 cups but only measured out 1.5 cups..
Don't know why they added vegetable shortening (called suit)
Also had lots of added sugar.. so I'll add fresh apple cubes to fill the pie shell before baking to use up the last 3 jars and go back to making my own..
Mincemeat is hard to make and I'm sure others like it!

I was unable to find mincemeat in any local grocery stores so I ordered Robertsons. The mincemeat was very good. It tasted like the mincemeat I remembered from Christmases in my childhood. I found it took two 411g size jars to make one 9" pie.

Loved it. I always put a little lemon juice, Rum and Brandy and let it sit overnight in a sealed bowl. Such a nice rich mincemeat. Reminds me of when I was a young girl.
