Cole's - Christmas Puddings, Spotted Dick and Steamed Puddings

A British Christmas pudding is not a cake and not a dessert you eat cold. It is a dark, dense, fruit and brandy pudding that is steamed, set alight at the table and served with brandy butter. Cole's has been making them in Suffolk since 1948.

In stock now: Classic Christmas Pudding in 227g and 454g, Brandy in 112g, 454g and twin packs, Boxed Brandy 227g, Rum and Double Cream 350g, Figgy 275g, Double Chocolate and Orange 350g, gluten, nut and alcohol free 112g, and Spotted Dick steamed pudding twin packs.

Buy the small sizes to try one, the 454g for a table of six. Steam or microwave, then pour cream or custard over. We import them ourselves and hold them in Massachusetts, which matters in December.

Buy British Christmas Puddings Online in the USA
Christmas pudding is the one British food Americans have heard of and almost never eaten. It is closer to a steamed fruitcake than to a pudding in the American sense, and it is the fixed ending to a British Christmas dinner.

Sizes, Alcohol Free Options and How to Heat It
The 112g puddings serve one or two, 227g suits a small table and 454g is the standard family size. Alcohol free and gluten free versions exist for anyone who needs them. Steam for the traditional result or microwave for speed, then serve hot with brandy butter, cream or custard.

FAQ

Q1: What is a Christmas pudding?
A dark steamed pudding of dried fruit, spices and usually brandy, served hot at the end of Christmas dinner.

Q2: What is Spotted Dick?
A steamed suet sponge studded with currants, served hot with custard. A year round pudding rather than a Christmas one.

Q3: How long do Christmas puddings keep?
Unopened they keep for a long time in a cupboard. Check the date on the individual pack.
