I'm not kidding. I had these when I was in England last year and I craved them when I returned to The States. They're amazing. Texture. Flavor. Everything about them, to me, is incredible. It is a matter of personal opinion, and I'm personally addicted.
I ordered these because they are often mentioned in the Masie Dobbs series of books, and I didn't know what they were. I found that they were very like a mince meat pie by Nonsuch, but had recently found that Nonsuch would not restock their pie filling until the next holidays in 2025. So these give me a taste during the mince meat drought. Very nice, wonderful pastry, really delightful.
