McVities Digestive Dark Chocolate Biscuits 266g is the dark chocolate version of Britain's best-selling biscuit - the same wheatmeal digestive under plain chocolate instead of milk.
Product Highlights & Features
- The digestive: Created in 1892 by Alexander Grant for McVitie & Price, and still the biggest-selling biscuit in Britain. Wholemeal flour gives it the sandy, slightly savoury crumb that stops the chocolate being sickly.
- Dark, not milk: Plain chocolate is less sweet, which lets the slightly savoury wheatmeal base come through. It is the version most British adults switch to.
- Dunking: The reason the British argue about biscuits. A digestive gives you a few seconds; a Hobnob gives you longer. Either way the chocolate side goes on top, out of the tea.
About McVitie's: McVitie's was founded in 1830 by Robert McVitie on Rose Street in Edinburgh. Its employee Alexander Grant created the digestive biscuit in 1892, and the firm has since produced the Jaffa Cake (1927) and the Hobnob (1985). It is now part of pladis.

I love these. Thrilled to get in the US. They are not cheap here! Twice now I’ve had them crushed or melted in to a solid chunk. For the price I’d like safer packaging.
The three pack survived trans Atlantic shipping only to be pulverized in a plastic bag enroute to my door.
I love McVities biscuits, don't get me wrong. Usually they come with no problems. My last order of dark chocolate McVities biscuits apparently got too hot, and three packages of them are glued together with the chocolate, making them un-eatable as biscuits. I have to carve them into bite size pieces of the log that they have become. They still taste as good as McVities, but geez. It's a little like having to drink champagne out of a baby's sippy cup.There was a small cold pack that was in the package, but it was totally melted. Too bad.

McVities Digestives are great all by themselves - BUT - when you smear a little dark chocolate on top, you've got a next level treat! They also offer a milk chocolate version, just remember dark chocolate is healthier, and UK chocolate is better than US. It's a winner.
It feels good when I digest these!
This is a great wheat based chocolate covered biscuit that goes good with coffee or tea. Makes a lovely snack alone or with ice cream.
These biscuits arrive having melted together. Must have gotten too warm at some point during shipment. They taste good so I ate them with tea anyway.
The only thing I didn't like was the chocolate was all melted and the cookies were all stuck together and were hard to separate .
I love these biscuits but unfortunately like others, my biscuits arrived crumbly and all stuck together because the chocolate had melted. I waited until the weather had cooled down to order, but still the truck must have gotten hot during the day. I guess I'll wait until the dead of winter to order again.
Crunchy & not too sweet
I would have given these 5 stars but they arrived fused together. I was able to separate them (with considerable breakage) using a table knife. They taste was there but also a lot of crumbs.
We had some friends send us some from Scotland, so excited when we found them here in the US.
For delivery in a solid block, be sure to addIn special instructions,1) the ends to be crushed mostly to dust,2) be warmed for 2 hours at 110F to melt the chocolate3) frozen for 6 hours to turn into solid blocksWorked for me!
These are wonderful. Only problem i encountered is they werr delivered on a hot day and left at a side door. I didn't realize they were there until later and all the chocolate was melted everywhere. Only choice was to freeze them and it almost took a chain saw to get them apart. Suggest buying them in cooler weather.

These are good snacks. They were fresh and just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. They arrived in good condition and were well packaged to protect the biscuits.
The dark chocolate coating is good and helps to keep the cookies from crumbling during transit. I enjoy these cookie/cracker very much.
These Dark Chocolate Digestives are not overly sweet - which is a good thing in my opinion - and were rather tasty. But I live in Florida and I ordered the Dark Chocolate Digestives in May. It is hot in Florida in May, and who knows how long the Dark Chocolate Digestives were in the delivery truck before they reached my door - all gooey and stuck together. Make sure that wherever you live, you order the Dark Chocolate Digestives in cool or cold weather.
Came pretty crumbly, but still tastes as I remember.
