Collection: D.R. Harris - London Shaving Soap, Aftershave and Shaving Sticks

D.R. Harris has traded from St James's in London since 1790, which makes it older than most countries' governments. This is traditional wet shaving: a hard soap in a wooden bowl, a badger brush, and a lather you build yourself rather than squirt from a can.

In stock now: Arlington Shaving Soap in a beech bowl 100g, Sandalwood Shaving Soap in a mahogany bowl 100g, the Marlborough Shaving Stick 40g and Marlborough Aftershave 150ml.

Arlington is citrus and fern, the house classic. Sandalwood and Marlborough are warmer and woodier. The bowls are refillable, so the first purchase is the expensive one. Imported by us from London and shipped from our Massachusetts warehouse.

Buy D.R. Harris Shaving Products Online in the USA
Traditional wet shaving has a following in America, but the classic British houses are stocked thinly and usually at a mark up. D.R. Harris is one of the oldest of them, still based in St James's, and this is the London range rather than a US reformulation.

Soap Bowls, Sticks and Scents
A hard soap in a turned wooden bowl lasts months and the bowl is refillable, so the cost per shave is low despite the first price. A shaving stick is the travel format, rubbed straight onto a wet face. Arlington is the fresh citrus scent; Sandalwood and Marlborough are warmer and more traditional.

FAQ

Q1: How do you use a shaving soap bowl?
Wet a shaving brush, work it on the soap to build a lather, then apply to the face. The bowl holds the soap in place.

Q2: What is a shaving stick?
The same soap in a stick form, rubbed directly onto wet skin and then worked into a lather with a brush. Made for travel.

Q3: How long does a bowl last?
With regular shaving, several months. Refills are sold separately so the wooden bowl is kept.
