Perfect for Christmas Pudding

Worked like a charm in Christmas Pudding! No difference whatsoever from suet extracted from animal bodies.

Dumplings and suet pudding! Can’t wait

1st box arrived damaged and we were granted a refund and repurchased. 2nd box arrived undamaged. Great for making dumplings, suet pudding, jam, golden syrup and fruit. Usually used more in the winter months. We lived in the UK and you never realize what you will miss, until you can’t get it. Glad its available on Verified.

Convenient Baking Aid with Significant Health Drawbacks

Atora Vegetable Shredded Suet is a highly convenient and effective option for achieving flaky and light results in baking, especially in recipes like dumplings and puddings. However, the product is largely composed of hydrogenated vegetable oil, which contains trans fats known to significantly raise bad cholesterol (LDL) and lower good cholesterol (HDL). The ease of use, with its pre-shredded form, makes it a go-to choice for those who want to save time in the kitchen. Yet, trans fats are linked to serious health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, and inflammation. The suet performs remarkably well in producing rich, traditional textures without the use of animal fats. Unfortunately, the heavy reliance on hydrogenated oils makes this product a potential hazard for long-term health, as trans fats are considered among the most harmful dietary components. For those focused purely on achieving the right consistency in cooking, Atora Vegetable Suet does the job perfectly. However, consumers should weigh these benefits against the well-documented risks of regularly consuming hydrogenated oils, which have been widely discouraged by health professionals.

Can't tell a difference between this and the beef suet

I use this to make holiday pudding and I see no difference in texture or taste from the beef suet. I'd much rather use this than kidney fat.

Great Alternative to Beef Suet

If the recipe calls for beef suet - British Christmas Pudding, steamed meat puddings etc this vegetable suet it a great substitute. Also used for making homemade suet balls for the birds

I would order this again.

I purchased this product as I was unable to find it in a grocery store. Most suet products were for bird feeders.I was trying to make an old Scottish recipe for a boiled pudding known as a Clootie Dumpling, similar to a fruitcake, and this was an essential ingredient. My dumpling turned out perfectly.I would buy this product again.
